Supporting Oweesta Corporation
A Three-Year Investment in Native-Led Opportunity

In October 2026, I became an investment partner with Oweesta Corporation through an initial three-year personal impact investment. What began with conversations in September has become a funded commitment to the nation’s longest-standing Native Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) intermediary.

This marks a meaningful new step for me and the stewardship mission I advance through Hart Legacy Press: supporting a Native-led institution whose work reaches communities nationwide. It extends my commitment to education, opportunity, and responsible stewardship into sustained financial support at the institutional level.

The investment provides repayable capital to support Oweesta’s work strengthening Native CDFIs and expanding access to financing and economic opportunity. Its initial three-year term reflects my commitment to giving that work time and dependable support.

National Reach. Community-Led Priorities.

For more than 25 years, Oweesta has helped strengthen the financial institutions serving Native communities. Through capital, training, technical assistance, research, and policy advocacy, it supports Native-led lenders and organizations working across Indian Country, Alaska, and Hawai‘i.

Those institutions help entrepreneurs build businesses, families pursue homeownership, and communities develop financial knowledge and lasting economic strength. Oweesta’s national reach supports work grounded in the priorities of the people and communities its partners serve.

For me, this partnership means placing personal resources behind experienced Native leadership and established institutions. I am proud to support their capacity to expand opportunity, build community wealth, and strengthen economic independence and sovereignty.

Personal Capital. Lasting Purpose.

My work through Hart Legacy Press explores history, service, stewardship, and the responsibilities we carry toward one another. This investment puts those values into practice through a lasting financial commitment.

I appreciate the care and professionalism of Chrystel Cornelius and the Oweesta team throughout this process. I look forward to continuing the relationship, learning from their work, and sharing its importance with others.
